Lieutenant Ed Kotz

 

Edward J. Kotz, Jr.

Of Milford, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was 66.    Mr. Kotz was born on March 23, 1944 in Wilmington, son of the late Edward J., Sr. and Katherine Danlove Kotz.  He was employed for 24 years with the New Castle County Police, retiring as a Lieutenant in 1989.   Ed enjoyed boating, photography and traveling but most of all loved the times he spent with his grandchildren.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Augusta Military Alumni Association and a member of the St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Earleville, Maryland, were he had served on the Vestry there.   He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary E. Kotz; two sons and daughters-in-law; Edward J. III and Nancy Kotz of Los Angeles, CA and Mark F. and Lori Kotz of Mesa, AZ; two daughters and sons-in-law; Dawn and Greg Dehel of Lincoln and Bobbie and Sean Kilgore of Milford; a sister and brother-in-law, Annette and Pepe Sergiovanni of Rome, Italy and ten grandchildren.   Friends may call from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave, Milford.   Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2011 at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 12 Glebe Rd, Earleville.  Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE, 19963 or to Helen F.
